Aprima Medical Software Achieves CCHIT Certified® 2011” Status
Dallas, TX (March 21, 2011) — Aprima Medical Software announced today that Aprima 2011, an electronic health record and practice management (EHR+PM) system, has achieved full certification through the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®) and is a CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR, additionally certified for Child Health. Aprima 2011 also received ONC-ATCB 2011/2012certification in 2010 (details below).
Administered by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), the CCHIT Certified 2011 program rigorously inspects products against integrated EHR functionality, interoperability, and security criteria independently developed by the Commission’s expert work groups, using the Commission’s published testing methods. This program is intended to serve health care providers looking for maximal assurance that a product will meet their complex needs.
“Aprima has always worked hard to stay in front of industry requirements and standards, and CCHIT certification is part of that commitment,” said CEO Michael Nissenbaum. “We understand that physicians are making a significant investment when they purchase an EHR, and we want to provide every assurance that Aprima can help them achieve their goals.”
In addition to the CCHIT Certified 2011 recognition, Aprima 2011 was certified as a Complete EHR on September 30, 2010 by CCHIT, an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).†
Aprima Medical Software has certified its EHR technology in both CCHIT programs to offer greater assurance to its customers that Aprima 2011 is a robust, reliable EHR that can help them provide better patient care and achieve ARRA Stage 1 Meaningful Use.
The two certifications use different criteria and conduct separate product testing, but both have the goal of helping physicians identify EHRs that will provide the functionality their practices need.
